Derek Kellogg is not resting after putting together one of the best recruiting classes in UMass history. The 2016 class features five freshman phenoms in DeJon Jerreau, Brison Gresham, Chris Baldwin, Unique McLean and Tyrn Flowers, not to mention new-comers Luwane Pipkins and Zach Lewis. One of those freshman, Chris Baldwin, has yet to step on the court for the Minutemen but he is already helping out the cause.
Baldwin is a man on a mission trying to recruit his old high school buddy Wabissa Bede to join the Minutmen for 2017. Like Baldwin was a year ago, Bede is a highly touted Western Mass talent who has UMass on his list of potential schools. This week Baldwin started the #BedetoAmherst hashtag and it caught on quickly.

For now, Wabissa has four other schools on his list (Butler, La Salle, Minnesota and Virginia Tech) but Baldwin and UMass fans everywhere are hoping he stays home in Western Mass.
About Wabissa Bede:
- 3 Star recruit
- #87 on ESPN 100
- #19 point guard in the nation
- Plays high school ball at Cushing Academy
- Check out his Rivals page for some nice highlights
With a little luck, Bede can be the cornerstone of another great recruiting class.
